At 9:30 on November 1st, 1755, an enourmous earthquake hit Lisbon. The magnitude was so intense that it was felt all around Europe (it ranged churchbells in Paris...). A tsunami and extensive fires destroyed the majority of the city, killing thousands of citizens.
Today, 250 years after I pictured these two guys, parading with boards to remember the event.
